KOLABO VS CODUM
Monday, the 19th of July we’ll have the Kick-off of the annual Kolabo Summer Lab at Codum. During two weeks, an interdisciplinairy team will take on a very special challenge by Internet Of Things expert Rob van Kranenburg in which we’ll jump ten years forward in time, to the year 2020:
It is inevitable that the vertical institutions will break under the weight of the internet based decision possibilities of evergrowing groups of people organizing themselves on all kinds of specific topics.
As people are not ready for self organization, having not been educated into it, we will have to seek a viable alternative for a general public. It is in the long run inevitable as a social structure of educated individuals choosing how to live together with whom they want in freedom. We need to educate people into living it.
At Kolabo we’ll research how we can develop tools for this scenario, with talents that have recently graduated in social sciences, new media and applied arts. It is going to be quite exciting.
For those who will not join the Lab, there’s the opportunity to come and see the public presentation on July 30th, where we’ll present all creative ideas that were harvested in these two weeks. After that there will be drinks and networking opportunities, followed by a movie screening on location, at Codum. An invitation will follow soon. Daily udates will be available on our blog.
